When Gemma Swift appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show she was ridiculed by viewers over the state of her 'horrendous' teeth - but now she says she's 'really glad' that she went on the recently scrapped ITV show.
Following her segment of the daytime show - which was broadcast back in January 2016 and was entitled 'Stop harassing me just because I'm sleeping with your ex' - Gemma received messages of abuse because of her buckteeth, but claims she was never offered any after-care.
According to Gemma, the only time the show got in touch with her was to offer to pay for her teeth to be fixed - in return for a second stint which led to the online abuse continuing.

But, irrespective of the hate that was posted online by viewers of The Jeremy Kyle Show, Gemma says that she was treated well by the team and doesn't regret going on.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: "After the show it was quite bad. I got even more hassle, particularly online, because of my teeth but I also got a lot of positive comments from people saying they wouldn't judge me.
"There was no after-care or counselling from the show. After my first appearance, the only time I heard from them was when they called about my new set of teeth.

"I'm really glad I went on the show because I managed to get my teeth sorted."
Gemma added: "I was really happy when they told me they were going to help me with my teeth. They paid for a car to take me up to Manchester for the treatment.
"When I went on the show again, Jeremy was really nice. I was offered no counselling after the second time but I felt okay about it."
Gemma had gone on the show - which has now been axed after a guest was reported to have taken his own life - after admitting to sleeping with her friend's ex-boyfriend.

But she claimed that the team tried to stroke tensions, explaining: "The show called me and told me all this stuff she was saying about me - horrible stuff like she was going to knock my teeth down my throat and that I should brush them.
"Before I went out they were saying how I should go out there and give her a piece of my mind. They were saying, 'Make sure you say what you need to say because she's really slagging you off.'
"I think they were saying it to wind me up so it would make a better show."
News emerged earlier this week that The Jeremy Kyle Show had been axed after the death of 63-year-old Steve Dymond, who was filmed as a guest on the programme. ITV has since said that the episode in question will not be aired.

Speaking to The Sun, Jeremy said: "Myself and the production team I worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events.
"Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve's family at this incredibly sad time."
