Allen's Lollies Is Launching A Black Cats-Only Bag

Allen's Lollies Is Launching A Black Cats-Only Bag

Lollies come in a vast array of colours, shapes and flavours. Everyone usually finds something they like and sometimes it might not be the most popular one in the supermarket aisle.

It's always a risk for companies to single out these less famous lollies, however it can sometimes be a big win.

The aniseed-flavoured lolly has an army of fans as well as an opposing force of people who would spit them out the moment it touched their lips.

But the former group will be celebrating in the streets because they will now be able to chow down on their favourite lolly without having to pick it out of a mix.

Nestle head of marketing confectionery Joyce Tan said the new pack will be available in Woolworths stores from March 4.

She added that they have been inundated with requests for a Black Cats-only bag for years and they just had to give the people what they want.

"We hope that it sells so incredibly well that it will be part of our range for many years to come," she said.

"They are, without a doubt, the number one lolly that fans have wanted in solo packs. A lot of people have said they only buy Party Mix just to eat Black Cats and then give the rest away.

"We've followed the social media movement that has connected aniseed lovers nationwide, creating a unique community that are mighty, loyal and passionate about their lollies.

"We've heard their cries."

It's another big change for the company, who recently brought out chocolate coated raspberry bites.

They've managed to make an already scoffable lolly more delicious, which is a pretty difficult thing to do. They're available now for just $4.50. The best thing about these suckers is they're gluten-free, meaning those celiacs around Australia can eat these until their heart's content.

Ms Tan added: "Allen's raspberries have been a fan favourite for decades and we are very excited to launch a new chocolate twist on this iconic Allen's lolly.

"We are confident that Allen's Mini Chocolate Raspberries will be a stellar product within our portfolio, taking consumers on a delicious tastebud journey.

"The new range from Allen's will launch alongside new Milkybar Cookie Bites and KitKat Snak It, making this the biggest chocolate bags launch for Nestle in recent years."
