Asda Is Releasing Absolutely Massive Pigs In Blankets

Look, it's coming to the end of September, so I think we should just agree that it's practically Christmas.

I know technically there's still a few months until St Nick starts slithering down chimneys, but really, once X-Factor is back on, it's Halloween, bonfire night and then BOOM Christmas. Sorry, I don't make the rules - that's just the way it is.

So it's definitely not too early to invest in some stretchy trousers and start thinking about all the wonderful food you're going to eat, none so wonderful as pigs in blankets.

And, hot off the back of Aldi's announcement of foot-long pigs in blankets, supermarket Asda has revealed its mighty meaty offering and it's bloody huge.

The 'Extra Special Pig in Blanket' has over 500g of pork, wrapped in 100g of streaky bacon and measures an impressive one-foot-long and 45mm deep.

The massive pig in blanket can serve 10 people - but let's be honest with ourselves, it absolutely will not be getting shared - and will set you back a mere £5. Perfect.

If all of this isn't wonderful news enough, then let me tell you that you don't even have a very long wait until you can wrap your filthy hands around this massive sausage, because Asda is launching them on 22 October.

Meanwhile, Aldi is flogging its own super-size version of the Christmas dinner staple for the bargain price of £2.99 for two. It's probably best to make sure you buy both options just to check which is best, don't you think?

Now, that's the best part of the Christmas dinner sorted, and, thanks to Quality Street the post-dinner chocolates are also boxed off, because for the first time ever you'll be able to choose your very own pick and mix selection tin.

How amazing is that? Quality Street has partnered with John Lewis to offer customers the chance to select their dream tin of chocolates from the 12 on offer. So, you'll no longer be left with a tin full of Toffee Pennies when all you really want is The Purple One.

Eleven John Lewis stores will be introducing the pick and mix stations, where customers can go and fill their tins with a minimum of three different types of sweet for just £12.

Roll on 25 December.
