BrewDog has announced the return of its 24-carat gold cans, with lucky winners each receiving a not-too-shabby prize worth £25,000 ($34,500).

The Scottish craft brewer is channeling its inner Willy Wonka with a nationwide search for the golden ticket - or, rather, golden tinny.

You may have missed the chance to get your hands on one last autumn, but now you're back in with a chance to win big.

This time round, there are 20 winning gold cans to be won in total, with each worth a whopping £15,000 ($20,700).

But that's not all you'll get if you manage to track down a rare can, as winners will also receive £10,000 ($13,800) worth of equity shares from the company.

Not a bad reward for popping round the corner to pick up some beers, eh?

To be in with a chance, you simply need to pick up a 12, 24, or 48-pack of Hazy Jane beer, with the contest kicking off on 12 February.

A press release explains: "BrewDog gold rush 2021 kicks off with a Hazy Jane gold can launch on BrewDog.com this Friday 12 February. Customers will be given the chance to win one of the 5x 24-carat gold Hazy Jane cans by shopping any Hazy Jane multipack.

"Due to the high value of the prize, the cans will be sent out after customer verification - lucky winners will need to register their pack code and proof of purchase on BrewDog.com/GoldCan. The brewer will then ensure winners receive their prizes safely."

The 24-carat gold cans have been produced by BrewDog in partnership with Thomas Lyte, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths.

Just remember not to lob it into the recycling with the other empties.

Winners will also be able to claim a visit to BrewDog's HQ in Elton, Scotland, where they'll be welcomed on a private personal tour by founders James Watt and Martin Dickie.

Sure, you might not get to chew on an everlasting gobstopper or sail down a river made entirely from chocolate, but there will of course be BEER.

BrewDog has also announced it will be hiding 15 winning multipacks of Punk IPA and Lost Lager, available in supermarkets from 'mid-February'.

"This will see grocery shoppers also in with a chance to win a 24 carat gold can and shares when they purchase Punk IPA and Lost Lager packs from Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons with other partners to be announced at a later date," the press release adds.
