There's nothing quite like opening that first tin of chocolates, you know you're truly in the festive season then. There's always a wonderful selection of goodies to go through - right until someone takes the last purple one or the only coconut eclair.

Nestle have the answer for that - a personalised tin of Quality Street where you can choose exactly which of the 12 chocolate varieties you'd like to include.

Pop-up pick 'n' mix stations have arrived in John Lewis stores around the UK where you can make your perfect tin of Quality Street and, at the John Lewis Oxford Street store you can even get your name on it.

A tin canmust be made up of at least three different types of sweets - so don't even think about hogging all the strawberry delights.

So, say you have a love for the orange crème, the purple one and toffee penny but can't stand the rest this is your chance to have a truly unique selection all for you without the risk of running out of your favourites - well, until you eat them all that is.

People have been freaking out on social media, calling the pop-up pick n mix stations a Christmas 'game changer'.

On person tweeted: "John Lewis is doing a quality street pick and mix, how good does this look?"

Another commented: "Pick your own Quality Street at John Lewis, Kingston. A game changer, although they will be left with mountains of the coconut ones obv."

Quality Street has been around for over 80 years and has been causing arguments among families almost as much as Monopoly does.

Debbie Bowen, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street said: "Everybody's got a favourite Quality Street sweet and an opinion on which is the best, so providing a pick and mix option, for the very first time, could spell the end of that particular Christmas debate.

"This is a very exciting move for us and for Quality Street. We've been part of Christmas for more than 80 years and over that time we have had so many requests from people for a chance to create their own bespoke tin! It's finally here and we're delighted."

You can pick up a personalised tin in 11 different John Lewis stores: White City, in London, High Wycombe, Cheadle, in Stockport, Bluewater, in Kent, Cribbs, in Causeway, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Cambridge, Kingston, in London, Trafford, in Manchester and Oxford Street, in London

Nestle didn't stop with personalised tins, also brand new for 2018 they've launched a Quality Street advent calendar. This addition to the collection is another huge game changer. For those of us who can't wait until Christmas day to crack open the sweets - and why would we want to? - there's now the option to enjoy a Quality Street treat for 24 days leading up to the big day.

Well, I don't know about you but it sounds like it's going to be a chocolate-filled festive season.
