Five Guys is to follow the example of several other restaurant chains such as KFC and Burger King by opening some of its restaurants back up and offering a delivery service.

The popular burger chain is going to add another seven locations to the 13 that have stayed open throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

So, through using the click and collect function you'll be able to order a Five Guys delivery straight to your door provided you use the Five Guys app - which is available on Android and Apple devices - or by visiting their website.

They'll also be available on Deliveroo, if you've already got that app.

If you're planning on tipping up at the restaurant by using the Click and Collect service, you can do so safe in the knowledge that you won't have to break the government rules on social distancing while doing so.

You'll be prompted to pay before you pick up when you order online, and the delivery staff and staff at the restaurants will all be demonstrating compliance with the rules.

What's more, the full menu that you'd be able to get normally at Five Guys will be available to order. That means that you can choose exactly the burger you want, and make it from scratch ahead of time.

There are - as any Five Guys devotee will know - 250,000 possible combinations with regards to burgers, as well as 1,000 possible ways to customise the milkshake of your choice.

John Eckbert, the CEO of Five Guys UK, said: "We have adopted a phased approach to reopening Five Guys stores, adhering to government advice and ensuring the safety of our customers and crew is paramount.

"To date a small number of stores have remained open for Click and Collect and Deliveroo orders only and while this has been in operation, we're proud of how our crew members have supported local hospitals and key front line workers across the UK."

So, as of yesterday, the stores that have reopened are London's St Paul's and Baker Street, Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird and Fountain Park, Plymouth, Liverpool Queen Square, and Guildford (although that outlet is opening on April 22).

As mentioned earlier, some of the Five Guys restaurants around the UK have remained open throughout the duration of this pandemic.

You can find a full list of those by heading over to the company's UK website. While you're there, you could even order yourself some food.
