Christmas truly has come early.

Christmas is officially approaching, and we know this because Greggs is finally dropping the festive bake - and you can even get one for free a day before official launch.

It truly is the season to be jolly.

That's right, Greggs is handing out 1,600 seasonal pasties, in 16 of the bakery chain's UK stores.

The seasonal bake - which is filled with chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing, bacon and a sage and cranberry sauce - will be available from 4pm in the selected shops before officially going on sale on Thursday.

Now, we know the question on all your minds: where do I get my hands on a free festive bake?

You can snap up a free bake at the following stores: 22A Victoria Square in Aberdare; 55 Union Street in Aberdeen; 52/54 Botanic Avenue in Belfast; 85 New Street at Birmingham New Street Station in Birmingham; 87 Broadmead in Bristol; 34 Queen Street in Cardiff; 2/3 Saddler Street in Durham; Unit 12 Waverley Mall in Edinburgh; Epping Forest Retail Park in Enfield; 162/164 Buchanan Street in Glasgow; Central Arcade in Leeds; 21 Bold Street in Liverpool; 111 Great Portland Street in London; City Tower, Parker Street in Manchester; 54 New George Street,in Plymouth, and Phoenix House, Union Street in Sunderland.

As there are only 1,600 free pasties on offer, like any lovely deal, once they're gone, they're gone - fear not, if you miss out, Greggs is launching them for sale on Thursday and for £1.50 the tasty treat will be yours to keep.

Greggs has really gone all out this year preparing for Christmas - along with the festive bakes, the chain is also selling pigs in blankets.

They've also scored some cheeky festive PR wins too.

In Newcastle, the Greggs store on Northumberland Street put its sign up backwards in order to draw customers in who have ventured to the northern city to see department store Fenwick's Christmas display.

Plus the store dished out 500 festive bakes for free to go along with the Christmas window launch at Fenwicks too.

Let the Christmas bakery battle commence.
