Once you go over the age of about three, you find that you stop wanting to put stuff like crayons and plastic toys in your mouth. As your teeth come through, the urge suddenly just disappears - which is fortunate as you'd look pretty strange rocking up to a business meeting chewing away on a set of keys.
But Greggs has admitted we might still have a hankering for one household object... As it looks uncannily like a delicious pastry.

Tweeting a screenshot of a 'Velvet Chevron Cushion' from the Next website, the bakery chain wrote: "*Googles if it's okay to eat a cushion*"
If you look closely, you can see they've cheekily tapped 'Steak Bake' into the search bar at the top, too.
And to be fair, they've got a point. I've never wanted to eat a cushion before, but... This one looks hella tasty.
"Please rename steak bakes to Velvet Chevrons," one person begged.

To which Greggs sassily replied:
Someone else suggested Greggs went about creating a 'cushion sized Steak Bake', which personally I think is one hell of a brainwave.
Another asked if Greggs could start incorporating the Next cushions into their in-store decor, to which Greggs quipped back: "Homeware 'pastiche' isn't really our forte Jonny."

But one Greggs superfan noticed there was a slight issue with Greggs' revelation.
"Surely this would be a cheese and onion bake bc it's chevrons not diagonal lines??" they wrote.
Mind you, when Greggs replied to congratulate them on 'passing the test' that only the most 'elite' fans would spot, they admitted: "Alas it's because I work at Greggs."

Luckily, Next took the trolling well, and even joined in on the joke, suggesting: "Cushions for elevenses?"
That doesn't sound quite as mouth-watering as my usual 11am sausage roll, but it's a valiant attempt from the clothing and homeware giant.
It's not the first time Greggs has dabbled in a spot of trolling for the sake of a bake, having once teased us with the prospect of a full English number.
The hypothetical item appeared to be just like the famed steak bake, but inspired by the nation's glorious fry-up - commonly comprising a combination of eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, hash browns, black or white pudding, mushrooms and fried toast.

But just as we were coming round to the idea of a full English bake, Greggs revealed it was all a joke at our expense.
It's a cruel world, sometimes.
