KFC Confirms Vegan Burger Will Be In Every Single Branch From Thursday

When KFC trialled its vegan burger it sold out in just three days so it's no shock that they decided to bring it back for good - starting this Thursday.

Whether customers were purely curious about the sell-out burger first time round or not will become apparent in just a few days' time when the Quorn-based vegan 'chicken' burger hits the shelves (or ovens at least).

Here it is.

The treat is going to be available in every single restaurant nationwide from 2 January 2020 and will feature all the famous 11 herbs and spices (the ones that have been going strong since 1952), but with zero chicken.

The traditional mayonnaise in the chicken counterpart will be replaced with a vegan version and the iceberg lettuce will remain the same...

It will set you back £3.99 without any sides which could make it or break it but judging by the month-long trial that took place in summer it won't be too much of a problem considering that the burger clocked up 500 percent more sales than the launch of a normal chicken burger.

The burger will be available at all KFC restaurants.

Ira Dubinsky, from KFC UK and Ireland, told Metro: "The Colonel was all about welcoming everyone to his table - now vegans, flexitarians and our fried chicken fans can all enjoy the taste of our Original Recipe together.

"We've worked hard to perfect the flavour and make a Vegan Burger the Colonel would be proud of. It's the flavour of KFC, just with zero chicken."

Back when the vegan snack - dubbed the 'Imposter Burger' - was initially released, Victoria Robertson, Senior Innovation Leader at KFC, said: "With such a phenomenal demand, we knew we had to stock up on KFC's first ever vegan burger.

"We've loved sharing our iconic Original Recipe with vegans and veggies and now even more fans will have the chance to try it."

Responding to KFC on Twitter, one fan said: "WE CAN GO TO KFC NOW! AND I CAN ACTUALLY ORDER".

Others clearly weren't as pleased by the news with one writing: "Going to KFC for a vegan burger is like going to a brothel [sic] for a cuddle, f**king pointless lol," but hot on their heels, KFC responded: "Nothing wrong with a cuddle..."

Another commented: "Remind me again, kentucky fried what?" Again, KFC replied: "Kentucky Fried Chicken, but with one vegan option".
