You'll remember the interview that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave in the wake of their engagement - which was, of course, one of the most highly anticipated proposals of the year:

The relatable anecdote from a not-so-relatable couple involved a cosy night in with a roast chicken. Sounded like a lovely evening even without the surprise proposal.

Well, KFC has decided to latch on to a very specific part of that story (pretty sure you can guess which one) for a clever marketing ploy in the lead-up to this weekend's royal wedding.

Taking their romantic chicken dinner as inspiration, KFC has launched a new royal wedding-themed chicken bucket in honour of Harry and Meghan's forthcoming union.

"When we discovered Prince Harry proposed over a roast chicken, we simply had to show our support for the big occasion," a KFC spokesperson said in a statement to Mashable.

The Royal Wedding Bucket, as it's been dubbed, features 'a bespoke crest' with a 'modern KFC twist'.

"Featuring resplendent gold flourishes, the bucket is embellished with a classic regal crest, proudly adorned with both British and American flags," KFC said.

Speaking about the chicken - I mean the, er, engagement - in their first join interview, Prince Harry told the BBC: "It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our cottage; just a standard typical night for us."

Meghan explained that they were having a 'cosy night in', adding: "[We were] trying to roast a chicken and it was just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee."

According to Harry, the pair hugged it out straight after he asked for Meghan's hand in marriage.

However, 36-year-old Meghan was so excited Harry had to remind her to take the ring he was holding. Smooth going all round then.

Prince Harry continued: "She didn't even let me finish! She said, 'Can I say yes? Can I say yes?' and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like, 'Can I... Can I give you the ring?' She goes, 'Oh yes, the ring!'

"It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think [I] managed to catch her by surprise as well."

There will only be 50 of the special Royal Wedding Buckets up for grabs, and they'll be exclusively on sale at KFC's Windsor branch (naturally) on Dedworth Road.
