Ahead of the NRL State of Origin on 4 November, KFC Australia has gone all out to celebrate by launching a very special burger that every Origin fan will enjoy, with options available for both Blues and Maroons supporters.

We know there's few bigger things more divisive than the rivalry between New South Wales and Queensland when it comes to footy, and now, amid the 40th anniversary of the NRL's State of Origin, KFC has released a new Origin Recipe Burger - with two choices of bun.

The mouth-watering burger is stacked with two Original Recipe fillets, two layers of cheese, lettuce and cheesy mustard sauce - and now, you can choose the colour of your buns to reflect your favourite State of Origin team, with brilliant blue and magnificent maroon options available to top off your burger for a limited time.

Kristi Woolrych, CMO of KFC Australia said: "We're thrilled to launch the Origin Recipe Burger to celebrate this year's State of Origin series."

"The State of Origin is one of the biggest moments on the sporting calendar and it now has its own epic burger to match! We all know fans love to don a scarf, a jersey and even paint their face but we felt something was missing - you couldn't eat your support! The burgers will be a great way for footy fans to show their true colours throughout the series."

The limited edition burgers are set to drop into 13 stores across QLD, NSW and the ACT from 3 November, and will be available until 11 November.

If you're in NSW, you can grab your team's burger at KFC stores at George St in Sydney, Penrith Leagues, Jesmond, Campbelltown, Kings Park, and Fairy Meadow, while Queenslanders can get their fix from Rockhampton South, Redbank, Mackay North, Aspley, Maroochydore, and Marsden KFC stores.
