A bloke was left feeling shocked after he ordered seven pints of lager, a salad and some chicken wings at a bar in Dublin only to be given a rather hefty €75 (£64.70) bill.

Seán Mac Giolla Phádraig visited the Temple Bar Hotel where he ordered three pints of Rockshore and four pints of Coors Light as well as a portion of chicken wings and a Caesar salad, which added up to €75.40 (£65.04) in total.

Posting on Twitter, he shared a snap of his receipt, writing: "Spend, spend, spend, he says.

"You have no option but to spend, spend, spend, if you're out in Dublin."

Social media users reacted with shock to the post, one person said: "€7.50 (£6.47) for a pint of lager is outrageous, even in Temple Bar."

A second person joked: "€7.50 a pint, are they charging you for all the ones you didn't drink over the last 18 months?"

While someone else chipped in: "At these prices, I'll stay at home thanks."

However, others pointed out that he'd chosen to go for a few scoops in one of the most expensive cities in Europe - so the large bill was to be expected.

One wrote: "You decided to go to the most expensive location in the country for food and drink, the prices were displayed at the door."

While someone else added: "We've the second highest minimum wage in Europe and the second highest tax on alcohol.

"And you're in a tourist trap. €75 is on the expensive side but not the 'rip off' it's being made out to be..."

LADbible has approached Temple Bar Hotel for comment.

Earlier this month, a man shared his pal's ridiculous large bar tab that he managed to rack up over the Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas.

Twitter

The man was hit with a $8,613 (£6,077) bill, which included a $825 (£582) bottle of Tito's Handmade Vodka, three magnums of Pierre-Jouet Belle champagne at $1,350 (£952) per bottle and a chicken finger platter costing $75 (£53.13).

Sharing the photo online, the man's friend wrote: "My buddies tab after a day party at Encore Beach Club over MDW... pent up demand is very very real and Vegas is back."
