Marks And Spencer Has Brought Back Its Sweet Chilli Camembert

The fusion of French and Eastern cuisine proved popular at Christmas and is now back on shelves in time for Mother's Day

Amid the food orgy that is Christmas, it's easy to lose track of every single thing you stuff in your mouth. However, a decadent highlight for many was Mark and Spencer's sweet chilli Camembert.

On paper, the French-meets-Eastern fusion might not sound like the most natural pairing, but anyone who's had Camembert with a bit of honey drizzled on it will tell you that bit of sweetness can really make the cheese pop.

Anyway, the sweet chilli Camembert evidently proved extremely popular as Mark and Spencer's has brought it back in time for Mother's Day. The potential gift just needs to be popped in the oven so it goes all melty, then simply apply the sweet chilli glaze and get dipping with some crusty bread.

The retailer announced the news on Facebook earlier this week, sharing a tempting video of the gooey goodness being dunked. The message accompanying the video read: "Creamy, melty, gooey and back in stock!

"We don't want to sound cheesy, but what better way to celebrate mum than with our crowd-favourite Sweet Chilli Camembert? Simply bake in the oven and pour over the sweet chilli glaze: cheese heaven! Find it in store now. #MyMarksFave."

Judging by the response to the post, it seemed many people agreed with M&S' description of the treat as 'cheese heaven'.

One person said: "I won't lie, I just licked my phone..."

Another added: "Over the moon this is back in stock, absolutely delicious, look for this every week in my local M&S!"

However, the cheese is only available in selected stores at the moment, so there's a chance if you go searching for heaven, you won't find it - how profound.

M&S product developer Sadia Usman recommended buying your mum the cheese along with their 'Mum sourdough loaf' - yes, that is a thing.

According to the Mirror, she said: "This Mother's Day, think outside the box for that perfect gift for mum. Chocolate and flowers are great, but why not treat her to something out of the ordinary with our original Mum sourdough loaf?

"Spoil her with breakfast in bed and show her how much you care. For an extra-special, yet quick and easy treat, serve alongside our Camembert with Sweet Chilli Glaze. You can't go wrong!"

Sounds legit. You probably can't go wrong with that.
