Still, if the thought of January's relentless slog is tipping you over the edge, then fear not: McDonald's has come to the rescue with the promise of free coffee.
The deal is available to new users on their app, and could be worth up to £1.79 if you have expensive taste and go for the cappuccino.
Any guesses for what you have to do? That's right, download the app. Once you've done it, head to the 'deals' section and it will give you the choice for the free regular hot drink offer.

It's available until the end of January 2020, and you can order via mobile or show the code to a cashier.
They've also made their loyalty scheme more generous on the app.
A spokesperson told LADbible: "On 1 January, we made our coffee loyalty scheme a bit more generous through our app - we're seeing so many commuters buying coffees using the app that we want to reward everyone with the miserable month of Jan!
"So with the cup stickers you buy six and get the seventh free - if you order through the app you'll buy five and get the sixth free.

"Also for all new app users, we will give-away a free McCafé hot drink through the app too until 31 January."
However, on Hot UK Deals, some have reported that the hot drink deal isn't showing for them, instead showing a free cheeseburger. A freebie is a freebie, I suppose.
So what of the cheeseburger offer? Well, it looks like it's only available until tomorrow (Friday 3 January), so if that's what is showing on your app then you'd best get a move on.
Some users on Hot UK Deals have suggested the deal could be location-based, while others are saying it may have been staggered to avoid a rush in stores.

But regardless of whether you're angling for a free coffee or a free burger, there's more good news for Maccies fans, particularly if you're of the nugget persuasion - the fast food chain has brought back its Spicy Chicken McNuggets.
The popular chicken treat has landed back in UK restaurants from 11am on today (Thursday 2 January), but if you fancy getting some, you'll need to be quick as they're only on sale for four weeks.
The Spicy McNuggets cost the same price as the regular ones - meaning you can get six for £3.19, nine for £3.49, or really treat yourself and splash out on a 20 nugget Sharebox for £4.99. You might as well make the most of it for the 28 days they're available, eh?
