It's been a big week for McDonalds, having marked 50 years since the birth of the Big Mac burger with the limited edition release of two burgers - a bigger and a smaller version of the Big Mac.

The only time in half a century that the Big Mac has differed from its normal form, they've been selling out up and down the country as people flock to get the burgers.

Now, instead of changing a classic format, the revered fast food chain has brought back an old favourite that was cruelly taken from us at the end of last year.

Yes, the big news is that Maccies' mozzarella dippers are back on the menu, but you'll have to be quick as they aren't hanging around for long.

McDonald's got rid of them over the festive period last year and replaced them with some breaded camembert bites with a festive dip, which was very Christmassy but not quite the same.

Now that Christmas is over the famous cheesy dippers are back, but only until 20 March this year.

So what are you waiting for? You've only got a month and a bit to get all of the mozzarella dippers you can down your throat before they are harshly taken away again.

They're £1.59 a go - which isn't too bad at all, really - and you get three dippers for that so that's plenty to be going on with. They're also served with a tangy salsa dip as well, which makes for a great combo.

Each serving is 278 calories, so maybe don't go too mad if you are still trying to lose that festive flab, but wverything in moderation, right? Even the most committed dieter must still be allowed the occasional piece of cheesy goodness, surely?

The new Big Macs are also only around until 20 March, so get your hands on one of them too while you're there.

The larger version, the Grand Mac, is on sale now for about £4 and is actually bloody massive. The other special edition burger is the Mac Jr which is a smaller version, for those who want a Big Mac but don't have the appetite for a full one. It's on sale for £2.19.

All is not lost, though - McDonald's has responded to pressure to bring back items before. You just need to make an animated show complaining about it. They brought back their promotional Szechuan sauce from their campaign for the 1998 film Mulan after it was the subject of an episode of Rick and Morty.

So there is hope that one day we will see the return of my beloved McRib...
