Burger King Launches New Halloumi Burger In UK Restaurants

Here's one to get you through another Monday - Burger King has added a new halloumi burger to its menu.

Suitable for vegetarians, and obviously, cheese lovers, the new halloumi burger has been rolled out in all its UK restaurants, following a successful trial in Sweden. I always knew I liked the Swedes but never thought they would be responsible for a halloumi burger in my local Burger King.

You can either buy the burger on its own or as a meal with fries. The real news here though is that you don't just have to settle for one slice of halloumi - Burger King have gone and given the option to double up.

The Halloumi Burger on its own will only set you back £3.99. A meal would cost £5.99; the double costs £5.49 and the double meal £7.49.

In a statement, Burger King said: "Halloumi lovers across the UK rejoice and mark your calendars - the 8th of July will see Burger King launch the highly-anticipated Halloumi Burger nationwide.

"Made with crispy and delicious halloumi cheese from Cyprus, the Halloumi Burger will have lovers of this Cypriot delicacy filled with excitement."

Apparently, as a nation we love our halloumi - I personally can vouch for this and love Aldi's Halloumi Fries.

The statement continues: "With the UK now earmarked as the biggest importer of Halloumi, chowing down on over 2,000 tonnes of the Cypriot delicacy per year, the demand for Halloumi has reached fever pitch and Burger King have listened.

"Bringing halloumi to the masses, Burger King are excited to be amongst the first quick service restaurant to offer halloumi burgers to the high streets, stations and airports, all at an accessible price!

"Avoid the FOMO and take a trip down to your local Burger King UK restaurant and let Burger King provide you with the taste and sound of Summer 2019."

Of course, people are completely made up (including me).

Denmark's Burger King restaurants also offer the Halloumi Beef and chicken - obvs, that's halloumi and flame-grilled beef or a chicken patty - so fingers crossed we'll be getting a slice of that pie too.
