Christmas doesn't have an official liquid, but if it did it would definitely be gravy. The brown stuff is one of the best things about festive food and no one, bar no one, does it better than KFC. Thick, chickeny, peppery goodness that can turn any meal into a culinary masterpiece - if we could, we'd be pouring it down our gullets morning, noon and night, 365 days a year. That's why we've joined forces with The Colonel to give one lucky winner the ability to do exactly that... for free.
BEHOLD: the KFC Gravy Card.
The first and only one of its kind, this exclusive pass entitles the holder to a year's supply of free KFC gravy. That's 12 month's worth of daily dipping for your wings, pouring for your burgers, and, perhaps best of all, the opportunity to douse every festive meal in the good stuff without paying a penny.
According to figures published in The Independent, it's estimated that KFC shifts around 1.7 million pots of gravy per week in the run up to the big day. It's no wonder really. After all, what could be a better accompaniment for roast turkey with all the trimmings?
The world goes wild for KFC gravy, and not just when it comes to yuletide celebrations. The internet is awash with videos of people cooking up bizarre gravy-themed culinary concoctions, trying (and failing) to replicate the secret recipe in their own kitchens, and even making KFC-gravy based cocktails.
But the winner of our game-changing competition won't need to worry about making their own gravy anymore. Whenever the urge hits, simply walk into your nearest restaurant, show them the card and enjoy delicious gravy free of charge.
The Gravy Card is similar to the legendary KFC 'Black Card', an elusive and exclusive card that entitles the holder to free meals every day. Only a select few have been chosen to receive the Black Card, but our competition to win the one and only KFC Gravy Card is open to anyone. You don't need to be a celebrity, you don't need to be a KFC employee, you just need to love gravy.
Curious to see what the card looks like? A leaked video shows the card in all its glory. It's black and gold, with an image of one of the iconic pots of gravy printed on the front, which can be seen in the clip as the card is inspected.
Sadly for overseas gravy fans, this one-of-a-kind competition is only open to the UK. If you're based here and fancy your chances then you have until the 24th December to get your entry in.
If you're lucky, you could soon be the only person on the face of the earth with a card that entitles them to free KFC gravy. If that's not a Christmas gift worth getting excited about then we're not sure what is.
