The Grand Big Mac Is Coming Back To McDonald's Across Australia

The Grand Big Mac Is Coming Back To McDonald's Across Australia

Tastebuds, be still

The humble Big Mac has been staple of McDonald's menus for decades. It's one of those burgers that is just *chef's kiss* perfect.

But people started getting pretty excited - so too did their tastebuds - when the fast food juggernaut revealed that it was about to launch a bigger Big Mac to celebrate the burger's birthday.

Sadly though, birthday celebrations come and go, as did the Grand Big Mac, and we had to get used to the original size all over again.

But McDonald's has revealed that, in the best lead-up-to-Christmas present ever, it is bringing back the Grand Big Mac for a limited time.

The burger includes two larger beef patties, more special sauce, more lettuce, more melted cheese, and more pickles all served on a larger sesame seed bun.

The burgers will be in store and available to order on the app until early February - which is both good and devastating news.

The bigger burger was trialled in America, Spain and the Netherlands in 2017 to see whether people had the appetite for it before they rolled it out across the planet for the burger's 50th anniversary.

It also definitely wasn't the first variation of the burger with two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, served on a sesame seed bun. Several countries received The Mega Mac or Double Big Mac - yeah, just think what the latter entailed.

Other variations over the years have included the Big Big Mac that hit Europe, the Denali Mac in Alaska, the Maharaja Mac in India (made with lamb meat rather than beef), the Chicken Big Mac in some Muslim majority countries (including Pakistan, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait), and the Big Mac BLT in Australia.
