It didn't go down as well as he'd hoped

Known for his no-nonsense, tough-talking approach to cooking, world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay isn't one to mince his words when it comes to sub-par food.

But the 52-year-old has come in for a bit of flack himself after he posted a photograph showing what a full English breakfast looks like at his Heathrow restaurant, Plane Food.

Consisting of two rashers of back, a tomato, one sausage - ONE?!?! - two eggs and a mushroom, the father-of-five said it was the perfect way to get ready for a flight.

He shared the controversial picture, with the caption: "Now THAT'S how you get #ReadyForTakeOff!! @PlaneFood Gx."

But it's safe to say not everyone agreed. In true Ramsay style, followers waded in with their brutal assessment of the TV presenter's 's***' breakfast.

Offering their own score out of 10, one critic wrote: "Undercooked bacon, sausage not cooked evenly and egg yolks too orange. 3/10. prison food."

A second follower commented: "Gordon. Where's the beans? Hash brown? Black pudding? Tinned tomatoes? Come on mate, that's an appalling effort for a breakfast. You'd get lynched up north for that. Ask Jamie Oliver."

"Undercooked bacon, half cooked sausage and burnt eggs. Get in the bin," said a third person.

While another simply wrote: "That looks like a really s*** breakfast."

But this isn't the first time Ramsay's cooking has come in for some harsh words. Earlier this year, haters slammed his 'garbage' attempt at another British staple, the humble Sunday roast - with most taking aim at his watery gravy.

The chef has been called out for his 's***' attempt at the iconic full English.

A video was shared from the potty-mouthed cook's social accounts of the gravy being poured onto the roast, with the caption: "Proper Sunday roast at @heddonstkitchen! And just look at that Yorkshire pudding....get the recipe."

Sadly, however, it didn't quite go down as well as expected, and people did not mince their words.

One person wrote: "That not gravy that cat p***."

A second added: "Gravy is way too runny. Looks garbage."

A third critic said: "Look at that gravy, it's a disgrace. Team proper thick gravy."

While another put: "Meat yes, roasts a bit more colour, not a bad Yorkshire. Gravy nah proper thick gravy and lashings of it."

But it wasn't just the gravy that came in for some criticism. Most of the chef's fans and followers weren't impressed with any of the bits of his roast.

One commented: "You forgot to cook the meat."

A second person then said: "Pretty sure that beef would still go 'moo' if you cut into it."

What are you, Gordon? "An idiot sandwich."

An idiot sandwich what? "An idiot sandwich, chef."

Yes, yes you are.
