The viral TikTok chef who shared videos from behind the scenes at a JD Wetherspoon kitchen says he has been 'suspended' for the content, having apologised to boss Tim Martin in a new clip.

The chef, known as J Salsa, posted various videos showing others how Wetherspoon dishes are made, including a traditional full English breakfast, chicken korma and halloumi fries.

While some processes surprised TikTokers, as items were cooked from fresh, others were a little more reliant on microwaves, which was met with a little less positivity.

J Salsa, whose TikTok handle is @_jahkt, has since posted a new video captioned 'I'm sorry Tim Martin', in which he said he had been suspended for the videos, adding that his actions had been a 'mistake'.

Explaining that the company's head office had found out about the videos and contacted the pub where he works, he said: "My manager has had a meeting with me today about the whole thing, the whole situation. They were really calm about it, to be honest.

"They understood and I explained my point of view - it was a mistake.

"I didn't mean to cause no harm to the company.

"Long story short, I'm suspended until my disciplinary meeting where I will find out if I get fired or not.

"So no more Wetherspoon's videos for now."

Despite his job being on the line, J Salsa promised that he had plenty more content for his fans, adding: "I still got more though. I've got steaks for you, I've got burgers for you, but for now I can't post them until I hear the decision."

So far, he has only posted a handful of recipe videos, but these have proven to be a huge hit with social media users, having racked up millions of views.

Footage of a chicken korma curry being made was met with some backlash, as it involved the chef heating up a packet of food.

One person commented: "You mean to tell me that I pay £7.50 for a microwave meal?"

Another said: "Think I'll just get a chicken korma from Tesco for £2.50."

However, the traditional breakfast received a lot of praise from people, as many of the elements of the dish had been freshly cooked to order.

Someone wrote: "Wow it isn't actually just microwave food I am shook."

Another person asked: "Wait they don't actually microwave everything?"

LADbible has contacted JD Wetherspoon for comment.
