We all love a trip to Spoons. It's cheap, it's cheerful, and you know exactly where you are with it. You grab a table, get a round of drinks in for UNDER A TENNER, before perusing that good ol' menu for a burger or an all-day fry-up. Maybe even a steak if it's a Tuesday, why not eh?

But while we love a Wetherspoon pub for being precisely what we know and love each time, we're always open to a small change if it works in our favour. Like prices being cut, you say? Oh, yes please.

That's actually what's happening soon, as the pub chain slashes prices on its food and drink - but for one day only.

Tying in with Tax Equality Day, Thursday 13 September will see Wetherspoon pubs across the country reducing prices of food and drink products.

While the exact details haven't been revealed just yet, WalesOnline reports that there will be a 7.5 percent reduction. That means that if you were going to spend a tenner on a meal and drinks, the price would go down to £9.25. Given that every little counts and we're all completely skint, that's ace news!

The nationwide sale is for Tax Equality Day, which is aimed at showing us the benefit of a VAT reduction within the hospitality industry.

All food and drink in UK pubs is subject to a 20 percent VAT - compared to supermarkets, which enjoy a zero VAT rate on food.

Paul Morris, manager of a JD Wetherspoon pub in Swansea called The Bank Statement, said: "We are proud to support the campaign to reduce the level of VAT within the pub industry.

"Customers coming to the pubs on Thursday, September 13, will find the price of their food and drink is lower than normal.

"We are keen to highlight the amount customers could save if VAT in pubs was lowered permanently.

"A reduction in the level of VAT on a long term basis will generate growth and create jobs in the important leisure and hospitality sector and help the high street, of which pubs are an integral part."

To be honest, Paul, there's no need to try and convince us. Walking in to our local Spoons and finding that our food and drink is even more reasonably priced than it normally is? Why, that sounds like the dream come true we never even knew we needed.
