Ever made a mistake when sending something on WhatsApp, or any social media platform, for that matter? It's absolutely devastating 90 percent of the time.

However, on this occasion that we're about to discuss, it actually turned out to be really wholesome and uplifting when a dad in the USA accidentally added a random guy to a family WhatsApp chat.

Now, the family WhatsApp chat can be both infuriating, overwhelming, and boring. It can also be useful - if people maybe live further apart - or hilarious - if you're the kind of family that gets along with each other.

Zachary Garrett was on his way to witness the birth of his third child when he decided to tell the rest of the family.

He told them all that his wife was coming along nicely, then shared a photograph of his wife with his grandmother.

His grandma replied: "Yeah, can't wait. I know y'all are anxious. Love you both."

Zachary replied: "We love you too! She was already at a 4 [cm dilated] when they first checked her so it will probably be quick."

The problem was his granny wasn't the only person reading all of this information.

It's embarrassing enough that a stranger would know how far dilated your expectant wife is, but to then have them pile into the conversation must have been initially mortifying.

Luckily, 'Bobby' - the unexpected party to this special family moment - seems like a stand-up guy.

He posted: "Don't know how I got added to this group, cause I don't think I know anyone in it!! LOL But anywho CONGRATS ZACH!! My name is Bobby by the way, shoot me your cashapp info and I will donate to the diapers."

He even offered to help out!

Garrett explained to Romper: "When we first heard from him I was a little embarrassed that me and my grandmother were talking away with him stuck in our group chat, but his selfie brought so much humour to the situation.

"We all had a good laugh! Bobby could have been really rude or told us to take him out of our chat but he didn't. He was so nice about it!"

Hey, it doesn't end there.

Zachary apologised and explained that he'd been added as he has his old military phone number, to which Bobby replied: "Anytime another life comes to us is a blessing and a beautiful thing!

"Just happy to see people happy! I'm serious tho, I will donate to the diapers cuz you can't ever have enough LOL."

WhatsApp

What a guy. Zachary even sent him a picture afterwards showing him and his wife with their new daughter, named Layla.

Oh, and Bobby actually did donate them some cash too.

Since the story went viral, Zackary said: "All of us were amazed how much everyone enjoyed the story.

"We've gotten so many comments from people congratulating us on little Layla. And thanking Bobby for being such a good person!

"I saw a lot of people say it gave them faith in humanity."

WhatsApp

Yup, it's a great story. The two men are even hoping that they can meet up when Zachary goes home for Thanksgiving.

Let's hope they get it together.
