Single Mum Posts Appreciation Of Her Ex On Facebook

Single Mum Posts Appreciation Of Her Ex On Facebook

This is so sweet.

When it comes to long Facebook posts, they're usually a rant about something, or a plea for money in my experience. But maybe that's just my friends. Hugely amusing to watch the car crash unfold, but not the best of things to do publicly on social media.

So when Jessica Singleton took to Facebook to talk about her ex and the father of her child, it was refreshing to see that she was praising all the hard work that he does for the son they share.

It's pretty unusual for exes to saying anything positive about each other (too much shared history), but when it comes to co-parenting, you have to leave the baggage behind and do the best for your kid.

And Jessica and Jon have managed that! It feels like a bit of a miracle - but then we only ever hear about the bad sides of break-ups and divorces and not the positive parts. Maybe Jessica and Jon are one set of exes who get along out of millions?

It was very sweet to read her gushing about the time that her ex takes to spend with the kid and how, even though they are no longer together, he still supports her and helps her bring up their son.

Which is totally the way it should be. There's no need for aggro and all father's should make the effort with their kids, obviously.

And the father responded too, saying he appreciated all the time that his ex put into making sure they can co-parent properly and how she jumps through hoops.

Even though the parents aren't together anymore, the support and empathy shown here is pretty impressive.

Ad the kid is pretty cute too. He's lucky he's got such mature parents.

All the comments on their Facebook were positive, praising the co-parents on how well they treat their son.

But not everyone was so impressed. Over on 9gag, a bunch of male commenters thought that Jon was "friendzoned" and didn't get why he was making an effort with his ex.

Um, because they have a kid together? Because the kid lives with the mother and still has to do the bulk of the child rearing?

Because he loves his son? Is this so radical for people to realise? This is the twenty-first century, guys.

Someone even said she was a bad person.

Wow people are quick to hate on Jen for accepting help with being a single mum!

Finally some sense.

Exes, take note of these two. They are (hopefully) the future.
