That's the equivalent of downloading every song from Spotify or the final season of Game of Thrones in Ultra HD 119 times.

Because we're living in a fantastic internet-driven world, we're able to access lots of data at the touch of a button.

People regularly download songs, movies, TV shows, documents and data every day and no one bats an eyelid about it. However, there are a few people out there who seem to really like downloading things.

One Australian has been outed by the National Broadband Network for being the biggest downloader in the country for a single month and the size of the data is quite frankly shocking.

The Queenslander has been revealed to have downloaded a whopping 26.8 terabytes of data.

That's a record.

According to 9News, that's the equivalent of downloading every single song from Spotify, downloading Joker a casual 7,615 times, downloading the final season of Game of Thrones in Ultra HD 119 times or downloading Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 304 times.

Why someone would do that is anyone's guess but here we are.

This Queenslander must have been doing some serious downloading to rack up that amount of data.

NBN Co. revealed the data about the person who managed to use up 26,807GB of data to prove a point about how Australians were using the internet in 2019. Interestingly, there's been a 25 per cent increase in the amount of usage for the company's six million users over the past 12 months.

The average Aussie is usually downloading around 258GB every month - which sounds pretty high, but when you add in all the streaming and gaming that one might do on top of using the internet for a computer, it's easy to see how quickly all that data adds up.

But it seems like this Queenslander was just doing what Queenslanders do best. The Sunshine State has been recorded as having the biggest downloaders, with the average Queenslander racking up 274GB of data every month.
