Now, it's fair to say that life in lockdown has been hard. Sitting in the house, staring at the walls, doing some work, occasionally getting some time off to enjoy a lovely can of beer, then getting back to work.

However, one brewery in Leeds is offering a deal that could - in theory - see you stocked up until the end of the lockdown - or at least until the beer gardens open in just under a month - by offering you 99 cans of beer in one delivery.

As for as lockdown booze deliveries go, this one knocks them all into a cocked hat.

The online beer business has boomed during the pandemic, with cocktail kits and beer selections becoming the highlight of most people's week, but perhaps this might be the biggest and best one yet.

As a warning, it ain't going to fit through your letterbox.

If you've got £199 to spend - that's less than £2 per can, remember - you can buy a seven foot long 99-can monster pack from Springwell Pils.

The pack has been created by North Brewing Company, who had planned the release to celebrate the opening of their new Leeds brewery.

That's the catch, by the way.

You have to live in Leeds to get one.

For those of us based tantalisingly close, but sadly on the other side of the Pennines, it's a sobering thought in more ways than one.

Either way, it's a remarkable feat of can-gineering, and we should be glad that the folks of the West Yorkshire city can get their hands on it.

You can even get one within a decent social distance, because at seven feet and five inches, it's over two metres away from you at either end.

The new brewery's manager, Sarah Hardy, said: "We've never seen anything this size sold in the UK before, so it could be the country's biggest pack of beer.

"Whenever we open a new bar or venue, we have a big party but we've not been able to have anyone in the venue yet and we still wanted to do something to celebrate.

"It had to be something fun and playful, so we came up with the idea of the 99 can boxes to launch the new Springwell beer, named after the brewery itself.

"At first, we were wondering whether we could deliver them in a Covid-secure way but the length of the box actually measures your distance which is perfect.

"Luckily they just fit in the brewery's van and they need two people to lift each box because they're hefty things.

"It's nice that people are able to get a pack and stock up their fridge with a really nice lager to enjoy, without having to pop in and out of the shops."

If you are based in Leeds and want to grab one, just head on down to their website and place your order.

For the rest of us, we can only dream.
