There are some days where you come home from a day of work and pour yourself a glass of wine or crack open a can. Before you know it, you've finished the whole bottle or six-pack - and all on a casual Monday night.

It might leave you a bit worse off the next day, though, and no one wants that.

So, what if we told you that you could have all the benefits of downing a bottle of wine without the hangover (kind of)?

The kind blokes at Rebel Coast Winery in California have developed the world's first THC-infused wine and because it has no alcohol in it, it means no groggy head in the morning.

To be fair, you might feel a bit spaced out as the wine will definitely get you high. Why? Because it's got the active ingredient from cannabis infused in it. But at least it won't be a banging headache, 'turn the lights down', 'why are you screaming so much'-type hangover.

In a press release, Rebel Coast Co-Founder, Alex Howe said: "Winemakers have been making infused wine for years, but no one developed a reliable method to remove the alcohol and infuse it with cannabis' active ingredients in a way that wasn't impacting the quality of the wine."

According to Cosmopolitan, the Sauvignon Blanc bottle is infused with 16 milligrams of THC, which takes about 15 minutes to kick in. The winery is also planning on releasing a rosé and sparkling wine that also gets you high.

It's expected to be ready next year after Proposition 64 comes into effect on 1 January, which legalised cannabis in the state of California.

The boys behind the wine came up with the idea because even though the proposition made the previous Schedule 1 drug legal, you still couldn't sell it in the same place as tobacco or alcohol.

So they got creative.

They went through a shitload of trial-and-error experiments because no one had ever tried to make alcohol-free, THC-infused wine. Eventually, they came away with this incredible product that has about four milligrams of THC in each serving.

"Our goal is not to kill you after you've had a few glasses," Rebel Coast says. "The goal is to get giggly and naked with someone. We set out to mimic the experience you'd find with traditional wine; a couple glasses will put most people in a great place."

Pass us a glass pronto, in that case.
