While bingo sounds like an old person's game that is devoid of fun or excitement, it's made a massive resurgence over the years.

People have revamped the classic number's game by bringing in hosts that put you on the edge of your seat, make you laugh from side to side and have a bloody good time.

One version of those really fun hosts are drag queens.

Back in the day, everyone used to call a bingo night hosted by a drag queen as Tranny Bingo - however times have changed.

Loads of people continue to call it that name but they're being encouraged to call it by its new, more inclusive name: Gender Bender Bingo.

The self-described creator of Tranny Bingo, Penny Tration, told LADbible for its LEGENDS series: "I wanted to find another word that was still fun. Tranny Bingo was naughty at the time. It was no longer acceptable.

"We became Gender Bender Bingo. It's a more inclusive name. It's more appropriate to use these days. It's more acceptable for the time being."

The T word used to be used by members of the trans community in Sydney in the 1960s and 70s as a way to describe themselves.

But the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) ruled in 2011 that it was no longer acceptable to use because the term is 'usually considered offensive and/or defamatory to transgender people'.

So the next time you want to attend a bingo event hosted by a drag queen, make sure you use the right terminology so that everyone stays happy.
