Pripyat is the famous Ukraine ghost town which lies inside the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
In 1986, thousands of people were evacuated from Pripyat following the catastrophic meltdown of the nearby Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
An exclusion zone to prevent the spread of deadly radiation was put in place across the town, meaning it is now completely deserted.
The footage - taken by urban explorer Dax Ward - shows the vast expanse of deserted urban sprawl.
He said: "It was overwhelming at times."
Based on the shocking events, new mini-series Chernobyl from HBO - currently showing on Sky Atlantic - could be the perfect way to fill that Game of Thrones shaped void left in our lives.
Chernobyl is currently scored higher IMDb than Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad, with an unreal average score of 9.5 - topping the list for the best rated TV shows.
The five-part mini-series is based on the infamous nuclear reactor disaster, and covers the build-up to the explosion and its catastrophic aftermath.
Indeed, the very fact the drama is based on true events is making the show all the more gripping and terrifying for viewers, many of whom are already describing Chernobyl as a 'masterpiece'.
Haven't seen anything as horrifying as #ChernobylHBO in my life. Nothing comes close. Pure terror and it all happened for real. Sometimes dramatised TV can do more to open your eyes about something that really happened than any other medium. Well done #skyatlantic pic.twitter.com/HyhEn5Q6BP

Chernobyl on Sky Atlantic / HBO is quickly becoming one of the most terrifying and highly engaging dramas I've watched all year.

A synopsis of Chernobyl describes the show as dramatising 'the true story of one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history', adding that it 'tells of the brave men and women who sacrificed themselves to save Europe from unimaginable disaster'.
Well worth a watch - and even more gripping because it happened just over 30 years ago.
