Unfortunately for many, Barack Obama will not be the next president of France, it appears.
That'll be, in the main, because he's set to sign a mega book deal that'll make him extremely minted, and perhaps another contributory factor is that he's not actually French.
So it won't be 'oui on peut', unfortunately, more 'argent argent argent'! Yeah, I got a C in GCSE French - what the fuck are you going to do about it?
According to The Guardian, Barack and his wife Michelle have agreed book deals with Penguin Random House worth collectively to be in the region of around $60 million. Yeah, seriously.

It will be a collection of memoirs. Here's what we think it'll include...
The time Michelle and Barack danced with an 106-year-old Ms McLaurin.

We reckon he will have 10 pages on this mic drop moment.
And four pages on the planning on his spoof retirement video.
And, more seriously, Obamacare. You know, that doesn't treat people completely dispassionately.
It should prove successful with Obama supporters and democrats in general, as well as internationally, as he has garnered huge support all over the planet.
(Little fact: this mountain (kind of a hill, really), was renamed Mt. Obama in Antigua, they like him that much). That's pretty cool, even if it's a bit underwhelming.

Neil Sroka, who was a campaign staffer for Obama, told the Guardian:
"Not only have they left an indelible mark on American life, but the Obamas are a couple of the most beloved national figures right now," which may be a bit biased, but will be a sentiment held by many.
"In many ways, the Trump presidency has only made their appeal larger than it was before. I'm not surprised the Obamas got so much money for these books because millions of people are going to feel a sense of nostalgia for a president they respected and seemed to respect the office in turn."
Of course, he can also have his say on The Donald, who earlier today claimed Obama himself (or was at least the decision-maker, who knows?) was tapping up Trump's phone lines.
To which a spokesman for Obama replied...

"A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice.
"As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen."
Far more interestingly, I have a book you can purchase which will be a much better read. You can purchase that here. I was not paid $60 million dollars for this but if any publishers would like to pay me that much to write something, you have my Twitter handle.
