You may have chuckled your way through 50 First Dates - just remember the scene where Lucy beats the crap out of Henry and Ula. But imagine those tragic circumstances being your reality every single day.

It is for this man who needs to be re-introduced to his fiancée every day after an alleged violent attack from a nightclub bouncer left him with severe amnesia.

30-year-old Sergey Ignashinm wakes up every morning not realising that he's engaged to Darya Piterya, 23, and even has to be told that they moved to Moscow together and are due to marry.

The tragic story echoes the classic 50 First Dates film in which Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore need to be reintroduced every day because she is constantly locked in the past after a car accident.

Sergey can't remember how he met or how he proposed to Darya.

The couple had been dating for three years before the incident happened in April 2017. Medics confirmed that he suffered a blow to the head but it's claimed that police refused to investigate.

It's reported that initially authorities tried to convince him that he had hurt himself leaving the club while drunk.

But now CCTV footage has emerged showing him being brutally assaulted by a nightclub bouncer.

However, CCTV evidence and eyewitness accounts later showed that he had been felled by a single kick to the head by a bouncer for reportedly breaking a shisha pipe.

Sergey said: "Every day I get reintroduced to her again. I do not know why I have picked her. I have to learn it all over again."

Court forensic expert Irina Danilia has now confirmed her belief that Sergey's injuries were caused by the nightclub bouncer. This is a boost to the hopes of Sergey and Darya.

The video shows Sergey leaving the nightclub and being knocked out cold after receiving a kick to the head from a doorman.

It shows him walking away from the man when he was attacked and apparently posing no threat. His friends, who were waiting in a nearby car, ran to his aid and tried to revive him.

Ms Piterya said: "Sergey wasn't drunk, he didn't even finish his cocktail. He wasn't trying to fight. This is ridiculous: Sergey is 170 centimetres (five-foot-six) tall, while all the bouncers are massive two-metre (six-foot-six) tall beasts."
