A neurology student from Australia has put his university course on hold to pursue a career in escorting.

The 27-year-old, who calls himself Jake Ryan, says he is 'Australia's alpha male', and travels around the country visiting wealthy women who want to use his services.

He began his venture when he started doing 'topless waiting', which then led to stripping, before he found himself looking in to escorting as a way to 'make ends meet'. He now makes enough to live what looks like a pretty lavish lifestyle on Instagram.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, he said: "You always fantasise about how much is the golden number - and retrospectively it's a matter of how I can utilise the money that I have made and that I'm planning on making to afford that end result.

"I haven't quite reached that goal yet but I think it's a good start and if I decide at the time that it is enough to walk away and say I've done my bit then that would be great, but I think a part of me is curious is to see how far I can go with it."

His clients range from 20 year old to 70, and on his travels, he sees between three and eight people a day, but it's not something he plans on doing forever.

He said: "There is a part of me that fantasises about continuing my degree or changing degrees into a different realm of anatomy and physiology but I do hope I can go back... and I don't mind thinking I'll be a mature student when it happens."

Although it's not your standard gap year, Jake says he doesn't feel judged for what he's doing - although he does choose to keep his identity secret and doesn't post pictures of his face on his Instagram account.

He said: "My family relationships are quite strong and my family do know what I do and I don't hide anything from them.

"The biggest thing for me was making sure that if they heard anything about me I'd prefer it to be from me rather than from someone else."

At the moment, Jake is single, and he does admit that his chosen line of work has made it harder to keep personal relationships going.

He added: "Because I'm travelling a lot it makes it very difficult to maintain a relationship but also the taboo side of being an escort is the emotional and mental stability required to date someone in my position or even to date a sex worker is very confronting especially in society today."
