The West has always had a sort of fascination with the US and their supposedly top secret UFO history.
A quick Google search will expose you to death by a thousand conspiracy theories. It is undeniably fascinating, but mostly it feels like romanticized science-fiction.
However, according to The Mirror Obama is "close to making a groundbreaking announcement regarding UFO and extra-terrestrial activity before he leaves office."

Stephen Bassett, executive director of US-based Paradigm Research Group (PRG), has said that he thinks there is a massive announcement to come.
As to what this could be is anyone's guess, hopefully it's something more interesting than bacteria on Mars or Jupiter, but equally don't expect there to be Xenomorphs with lasers trapped under the Nevada desert somewhere.

Bassett is hopeful for the announcement though. "This will be a reality this year and across the front pages of newspapers across the world, he told the Daily Express, adding that "ET is real".
"We are going to get disclosure this year. I am not sure who will win the election, but I think Obama will be the disclosure president.
"He will be looking at a Nobel Prize for making an announcement like that."

Hmmm, he's certainly talking the whole thing up a lot.
We can but hope that the news is worth waiting for.
