A couple of proud new parents have an extra reason to celebrate after winning the equivalent of 60 years' worth of Domino's pizza.

Clementine Oldfield and Anthony Lot welcomed little Dominic Julian Lot into the world earlier this month at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

HIs birth coincided with a competition that was being run by Domino's in which it said it would hand out $10,800 AUD (£6,059) to the first parents of either a Dominic or a Dominique.

Clementine gave birth to Dominic just two hours after the competition kicked off - meaning the family scooped the prize, which is the equivalent of a $14 (£7.85) pizza every month for 60 years.

Speaking to A Current Affair, new dad Anthony said: "My mother sent us a screen shot of the promo on Tuesday and we laughed it off thinking well that's kind of funny because he's coming today on Tuesday, not on Wednesday."

However, what the couple didn't know at that time was that little Dominic was in no rush to arrive, putting his mum through a whopping 72-hour labour and meaning she gave birth in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The couple had already picked out the name Dominic as soon as they found out Clementine was carrying a boy, with the new mum saying: "It's been one of my favourite names since I was a little kid.

"We both liked it and we struggled with finding names we both liked to be honest."

CEO of Domino's Pizza, Australia and New Zealand, Nick Knight, told Daily Mail Australia: "We have been blessed with 60 incredible years as a company, with 37 of those here in Australia.

"We wouldn't be celebrating this milestone without the support of our amazing customers and their faith in us to continue delivering delicious meals for great value.

"What better way for our Domino's family to mark this occasion and to share the joy of the next 60 years than with a truly unique birthday gift for someone's own bundle of joy - from our family to yours!"

The couple showed Domino's Dominic's birth certificate before being awarded their prize.

Now the new family are settled at home, with dad Anthony saying of his son: "He's pretty chill. He's really sweet, like his mum."
