Jeffrey Epstein Victim Sarah Ransome Says She Tried To Escape Island

Sarah Ransome claims she was repeatedly raped by Jeffrey Epstein for three days

Sarah Ransome, who claims she was raped by Jeffrey Epstein, has said she tried to escape the convicted paedophile's private island hideout in the Caribbean.

She was prepared to risk her life by swimming in shark infested waters rather than remain on the Island after she claims she was repeatedly raped for three days, reports Daily Mail.

She said: "At that point the sharks were a welcome alternative to the hell I'd been through."

However, as she attempted to escape, she claims that Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's associate, was the one who stopped her from swimming ashore.

"She placed her hand on my back and said: 'It's OK honey. Come with me.' And I went back with her into the monster's lair," Sarah, 37, told the publication.

Maxwell, 59, is currently on trial in New York after being accused of luring young girls to be molested by the disgraced financier between 1994 and 2004.

The full indictment against Maxwell lists six charges: conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts; enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts; conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity; transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity; sex trafficking conspiracy; and sex trafficking of a minor.

Maxwell denies all charges.

However, Sarah says that she wants to 'look Ghislaine in the eyes' if she is convicted.

The 37-year-old said: "I want her to know I'm there when her sentence is read.

"I want justice to finally be done."

Many of Epstein's alleged victims came from poverty-stricken backgrounds, however, this didn't apply to Sarah, who was brought up in a well-educated home and was raised by an aristocratic Scottish family.

After opting for a change, a 22-year-old Sarah fled to New York for a better life and that's where she was eventually introduced to Epstein in 2006.

She added: "Jeffrey was charismatic, charming. He seemed genuinely interested in me.

"He was old but I didn't think of him as a dirty old man. I felt safe because there were so many girls my age with him.

"They were well-groomed, they seemed happy.

"In my naivety I felt grateful that I'd landed on my feet by meeting these new friends.

"I had no idea I was being groomed to enter hell."

Sarah filed a civil suit against Epstein, Maxwell and others in 2017, which was settled out of court the following year.

Maxwell's lawyer Laura Menninger wrote in legal documents at the time: "This is not and never will be a sex-trafficking case. It is the story of a brief, consensual relationship between two adults.

"Ms Ransome may have come to regret her consensual relationship with Mr Epstein but that does not mean she was the victim of unlawful sex trafficking or that Ms Maxwell is somehow liable for it."

LADbible have contacted Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyer for a comment.
