A Crypto-Trading Hamster Is Doing A Better Job Than Warren Buffet

Mr. Goxx's portfolio is up 20 per cent and he's performing better than Bitcoin, the Nasdaq 100, and the S&P 500.

There is a hamster in Germany who has entered the crypto world and is doing a startlingly good job.

People all around the world have hopped onto the virtual wallet bandwagon in the hope it will make them some seriously good money.

While there have been multiple setbacks during 2021 in this realm, an animal is bucking the trend and outperforming some big name competitors.

Mr Goxx has a specially designed cage, known as the Goxx Box that allows its owners to buy and sell assets based off what the hamster does.

The animal has a running wheel, which is called the 'intention wheel', and when it's spun, it sees the hamster select from 30 different types of crypto.

Once the hamster hops off this incredible construction, the crypto will have been selected and then he can move through one of two separate tunnels: buy or sell.

Whichever tunnel Mr Goxx decides to go down, his human owners will complete that transaction.

All of his antics are live streamed on Twitch, which gives a fantastic transparency to the whole experiment.

Since Mr Goxx got into the crypto game in June, his portfolio is up 20 per cent and he's even been doing better than the likes of Warren Buffet, the NASDAQ 100, and the S&P 500, according to NPR.

Admittedly, the hamster and his owner isn't pushing around the same amount of money as these huge competitors, however it proves that the hamster is doing something right.

But it's worth noting that you probably shouldn't mimic the hamster's decisions as it's all completely random and the animal obviously isn't aware that its movements are being studied to make big gambles.

The owners behind the incredible creation are two men in their 30s and they have been thrilled at everyone's reaction to their experiment.

"We felt that everything keeps getting more expensive these days and building savings is super-hard to achieve with high rents to pay," they said to the BBC.

"It seems like most people from our generation see no other chance than throwing a lot of their savings on the crypto market, without having a clue what's going on there.

"We were joking about whether my hamster would be able to make smarter investment decisions than we humans do."

Mr Goxx got his name from the company Mt Gox, which used to be the largest crypto exchange on earth. That was until they had to file for bankruptcy when hundreds of thousands of Bitcoins were stolen.

Let's hope the hamster doesn't suffer a similar fate.
