There are plenty of brilliant chocolate brands, both local, national and international, that are littered across Australia.
But, you'd probably be shocked to know that the best of the best can be found at Aldi.
The low-cost supermarket's own-brand of choccy has been voted Australia's number one.
Canstar Blue's 2021 chocolate blocks review pitted the likes of Choceur, Lindt Excellence, Cadbury, Darrell Lea, Nestlé and Coles against each other and asked customers to rank them by 'taste, range variety, packaging design, value for money and overall satisfaction'.
Each brand was given a score out of five stars and Aldi absolutely smoked the competition.
They copped five stars in nearly every category and the public's only gripe was that there isn't enough variety. They want more, Aldi.
It's nuts that the supermarket's choccy was able to outdo Cadbury and Lindt, which are massively celebrated across Australia.
Adam Millauro ALDI Australia Chocolate Buying Director in response to the award announcement: "We are so excited that our range of Choceur chocolate has been recognised in these awards.
"Our chocolate is specially crafted in Europe and offers Aldi customers the best quality at the lowest price possible.
"This range also uses certified sustainably sourced cocoa, which supports fair working conditions and better opportunities for cocoa farmers, their families and our planet."
This isn't the first time Aldi has taken out the top award for a type of food or drink.
Aldi's own brand $30 vodka bagged the top prize at the annual Global Spirits Masters competition in September last year.
The Tamova Vodka snatched the Master award and it was praised for being quadruple distilled and traditionally filtered.
According to the experts, it's said to have an elegant nose - sweet, clean and lifted - and a slightly sweet citrus palate.
Tomva Vodka also won the 2019 Spirits International Prestige Awards, the Gold Medal at the 2019 International Spirits Challenge, and the Silver Medal at the 2019 Vodka Masters.
Aldi's Greyson's Seville Orange Gin won the Gin category in the Global Spirits Masters in 2019, so whether you prefer a vodka or gin martini, you're sorted.
