An Australian McDonald's worker has shocked people on the internet for the monstrously large order they received.

While staff are regularly prepared for when big groups arrive, nothing could have prepared them for this.

The worker posted a photo of the request on a Facebook page and is it well and truly nuts.

Someone who was clearly hungry and transporting a hell of a lot of people ordered 70 Angus Clubhouse burgers, 39 McFamily Boxes - which included 234 additional burgers - 39 packs of 20 McNuggets and 69 Large Fries.

That amount of food casually came to $3,400. Not bad for one order.

While the manager would have been cheering at all that money, the kitchen would have no doubt been thrown into chaos at having to prepare all that food to go out at the same time.

Cooking that amount of food at once would be difficult to ensure each item remained warm and delicious for everyone.

One person wrote about the post: "I'd quit on the spot if I saw that order."

Another added: "Small wait on the Angus burgers, shouldn't be too long. Just wait around the corner."

A third said: "Is this even legal?"

The staffer who posted the photo of the order said the screen also doesn't include the drinks that were also requested, which they estimate to be more than 100.

More than one hundred drinks, plus all that food? Honestly, it needs to be revealed who or what ordered this much food.

Sadly, it looks like we'll never get that answer as the Macca's worker remained coy about their location.

But it didn't stop people being genuinely shocked at the size of the request.
