Australia Records Deadliest Day Since The Coronavirus Pandemic Began
Victorian health authorities say 21 people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
It's the deadliest day in Australia since the pandemic began.
The previous highest daily increase in people dying from the virus was announced earlier this week with 19 lives lost.
The Department of Health and Human Services also said 410 new cases have been recorded in the same time frame.

The number of new cases has wildly fluctuated over the past few weeks, with highs in the 700s and lows in the 300s being seen only several days apart.
Premier Daniel Andrews admits it's hard to know how the state is tracking in its fight against the pandemic.
He said at a press conference earlier this week: "I know and understand that everyone wants to know when is this going to end. Everybody wants to know the circumstances in which we're in.
"And then they would very much like to be able to plot every day the numbers falling to a magic number, as it were, we can't get to that point."
