Ben & Jerry's is known for their delicious ice cream that is probably making you salivate right now just thinking about it.

But if you wanted to eat ice cream and help out the environment, then the company has devised a new way to do that.

Ben & Jerry's has unveiled a new flavour that will only be available in Australia and it sends a message to the Australian government.

Most of the time ice cream will only send a message to your waistline, but the Unfudge Our Future flavour hopes to direct attention to the Coalition's use of fossil fuels.

The flavour consists of 'chocolate and peanut butter non-dairy ice cream, fudge brownies and peanut butter cookie dough'.

The tub, which can be bought for $15 each, has a large message written on the side saying: "Dear Scott Morrison, make fossil fuels history!"

There have been personalised tubs made for treasurer Josh Frydenberg and energy minister Angus Taylor, asking each person to 'invest in a fast and fair transition to 100% renewables'.

Ben & Jerry's Impact & Activism Manager Steph Curley said: "Whilst climate change affects us all, it doesn't affect us all equally. Many of our communities are at an increased risk of a warming planet - and we have a responsibility to advocate for a new future.

"These are critical decisions that will impact Australia and our planet for generations to come. We've seen it's possible to redesign the way we live, and with enough people power - we can call on governments to rebuild for a cleaner, resilient and fairer future for everyone."

Ben & Jerry's has teamed up with 350.org Australia and the Climate Council to launch the special flavour. A portion of the sales generated from the ice cream will go towards 350.org Australia.

The company has also launched an information section on its website to help educate people about the environment and it gives the power to send an email to Morrison, Frydenberg and Taylor to voice your concerns.

The three groups are calling on the Australian government to adopt a 'science-led approach to climate change', get rid of fossil fuels and ramp up the production and use of renewable energy.

They hope these efforts will prepare people in rural, regional coastal communities for the future.
