Bloke Says He Can Cook The Perfect Medium Rare Steak In The Dishwasher

The hack has divided people on the internet.

An American reporter has revealed a new way to cook a steak.

But just before you rush out to buy new BBQ cooking materials, you probably already have everything you need.

CBS News correspondent Michael George revealed you can roast up a perfectly decent piece of meat in the dishwasher.

*record scratch* Yes, the dishwasher.

He showed his followers on Twitter how he did it and it seems pretty easy (if you have time up your sleeve).

The reporter picked up a juicy slab of steak, whacked it in a sealable plastic bag, vacuum sealed it and then tossed it in the dishwasher.

A video posted to his social media account explains how the steak was placed in the top drawer and the machine was put on for 96 minutes.

The vacuum-sealed bag will ensure the meat doesn't get loads of water and other possible contaminants on it as the heat and steam provides the perfect environment to cook it.

But sadly the dishwasher doesn't do all the work. Michael revealed he still had to whack it in the pan, along with some garlic and herbs, to get it to a perfect medium rare.

He said it was only on the pan for two minutes to ensure the outside was properly charred.

People were well and truly blown away by the cooking hack, however at the same time, it not only took way longer to cook a steak but it also would use a hell of a lot of water in the process.

One person wrote: "Interesting. Kinda like *steam-cooking* it in a microwave....then finishing it in a fry pan. With a microwave....you'd use less energy and no water."

It's similar to the cooking 'hack' you might have seen where someone managed to perfectly cook a steak in a toaster.

After shoving the two pieces of meat into the toaster slots, the TikTokker left them to 'cook'. We don't know for how long but we're also not about to give it a go.

After taking them back out, she slathered steak sauce all over the place before tucking in.

Not only has Juliette cooked steak in the toaster, she's also made bacon and egg using a pair of hair straighteners, fried a cheeseburger on an iron and put hot dogs in the washing machine.

In her latest TikTok video, she's conjured up spaghetti and meatballs using a coffee machine.

She added the raw meatballs with some spaghetti pasta to the water in the jug before adding a jar of sauce to the machine's reservoir (the back bit).
