People in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory can rejoice as Bunnings has made its biggest announcement of the year.

The company's famed sausage sizzle was banned across the country due to the coronavirus and people were devastated.

While the DIY hardware stores were allowed to remain open for the majority of Australia, shoppers weren't allowed to line up in their droves to pick up a sanga.

But, after months of sausage-less trips to Bunnings, the company has delivered the news we've all been waiting to hear.

The sausage sizzle will be returning to NSW and the ACT.

They will hit the nation's capital from this weekend and across NSW stores from next weekend.

The news was revealed on 2GB Radio, with Bunnings Chief Operating Officer Deb Poole telling Ben Fordham: "We are really, really excited to announce that our Bunnings sausage sizzle is back.

"It's the biggest crisis out. It means so much to so many people. It supports a lot of community causes and raises a lot of money for the local community. It is loved."

Sadly for Victoria, there's no word on when we can expect to see the BBQs fired up again.
