Bunnings is thanking staff for working through the coronavirus pandemic by giving them a massive cash bonus.
Full time staff will be eligible for up to $1,000 in cash as well as a gift card, while part time staff will be given a bonus based on the amount of shifts they did during the height of the pandemic.
Most Bunnings store, if not all, have stayed open during the pandemic as many people used the lockdown time to either do essential upgrades on their properties or decided it would be a good time to do that DIY project.

Staff faced similar experiences as their supermarket counterparts of highly stressful encounters with customers and did their best to make sure everyone left the store with what they wanted.
Mike Schneider, Bunnings Managing Director released a statement, saying: "We have a long history of rewarding our team in line with our performance and this year will be no different.
"This year, our team has dealt with a number of challenges with the devastating effects of drought, bushfires and floods in Australia, and on both sides of the Tasman, we've dealt with the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our teams have worked incredibly hard to keep our stores open and safe for everyone.

"As always, we're thanking our team for their truly incredible effort, and will reward them in the best way possible, and we wanted to do this as early as we could after the end of financial year.
"Full-time permanent team members will receive a cash bonus and gift card and in addition to this, as a sincere thanks for their exceptional efforts this year, all team members will receive a 'thank you' bonus.
"We will also acknowledge our team in the usual way following the release of our full year results in August."

It's a similar move made by Woolworths, who gifted $750 worth of shares in the company to full-time staff. Part-time employees were also be given a gift in the form of shares on a pro-rata basis.
The offer will only apply to staff members who were employed before March 1 of this year.
In addition to the shares, part-time and full-time who don't participate in the Group's ST, will also get $250 in Team Member PlusCard credits.

So all up, some staff members could be getting a nice $1,000 in their pockets.
