People have seen all sorts of things while sitting in the line for fast food drive thru, however a cow likely isn't one.

While livestock sitting in their own trailer at the back might be a more common sight; seeing one in the backseat of a car just chilling is one in a million.

But that's exactly what one motorist clocked when they lined up for McDonald's in Wisconsin.

Resting its head against the window like a child on a long car trip, the calf looked solemnly at the scenes outside as its owner edged closer to ordering the meal.

What do you get a cow from McDonald's? A milkshake? A burger? Both those are fairly creepy notions considering both menu items come from the animal.

Jessica Nelson was sitting behind the car and couldn't believe her eyes when she realised it was a cow.

Telling the Associated Press, Jess said: "I thought it was fake at first. Who puts a cow in a Buick? Then its whole head moved.

"I just took the video of it because I was blown away there was a cow in the back of a Buick."

She uploaded the clip to Facebook where it's been viewed more than 236,000 times and racked up thousands of likes, shares and comments.

Jessica wrote alongside the video post: "A WHOLE FREAKING COW!!! Tell me you live in Wisconsin without telling me you live in Wisconsin."

What's even more outrageous is that the owner of the car got in contact with Jessica after her post went viral.

The told her that not only was the animal 100 per cent real, but there were two others in the backseat that were out of view.

That would have been one hilarious car ride.

The owner said he had just bought the animals at an auction and was on his way home. Naturally, you've got to stop at Macca's.
