US Commentator Wants American Troops To Invade Australia To 'Spread Democracy'

Candace Owens has been one of many conservative US commentators who have been shocked by Australia's lockdown restrictions.

Despite our drastically lower Covid-19 case numbers and deaths compared to America, people in The Land of the Free have been rallying for Down Under to get out of lockdown.

Owens has joined that chorus and even compared Australia to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

During her talk show, she said Australians have been stripped of 'the most basic of individual freedoms'.

She rattled off a bunch of federal and statewide restrictions that Aussies have been living with during he coronavirus pandemic, including face mask mandates, a 5km travel limit from their homes, and nighttime curfews.

Candace used a letter from her husband's Queensland friends to explain how the Sunshine State has been cut off from the rest of the country for 18 months (which isn't completely true).

The commentator then compared Australia's restrictions and rules during the pandemic to living in the Middle East or Soviet Russia.

"For the last 20 years the United States has spent trillions of dollars fighting a war in Afghanistan... which we were told was necessary because we were fighting a noble cause to spread democracy in a tyrannical land and to free and oppressed people," she said.

"So I'm going to ask those same lecturing politicians and media members a question now. When do we deploy troops to Australia?

"When do we invade Australia and free an oppressed people who are suffering under a totalitarian regime? When do we spend trillions of dollars to spread democracy in Australia?"

She then double downed and really went for the jugular.

"Can anybody explain to me why the Australian government is any better or any nobler than the Taliban?" she asked.

"Both groups believe they have a right to oppress and a right to imprison people for their own good.

"Currently Australia is a tyrannical police state, its citizens are quite literally being imprisoned against their will, so when do we deploy?"

Not sure where she is getting the 'imprisoned against their will' part except for maybe the people who have been jailed for breaking lockdown restrictions.

Considering the US is a massive ally and partner with Australia, it's next to impossible to even consider a scenario where Joe Biden would order troops to invade our sunny shores and spread...'democracy' as Candace Owens put it.
