Shapes are a beloved Australian snack that come in a variety of similarly beloved flavours.

Arnott's decided they want to pit these delicious editions against each other to see whether they could crown one as the nation's favourite.

After a lot of research, they have concluded that Chicken Crimpy reigns supreme.

The company's results revealed that 22 per cent of Aussies rank the chicken flavoured snack at the top, followed very closely by Pizza, which scored 20.15 per cent.

BBQ flavoured Shapes just missed out on the silver medal after scoring 20.06 per cent of the vote.

Sadly, it seems like Aussies aren't the biggest fans of the runner ups of Cheese and Bacon (14 per cent of the vote), Savoury (10 per cent) and Nacho Cheese (9 per cent).

The battle of the states proves there is a big divide on who likes what.

BBQ came out in first place in Victoria, however Chicken Crimpy topped the lot in New South Wales and Queensland.

Nacho Cheese is apparently very popular with residents in the ACT, with a whopping 26 per cent of voters selecting the rogue flavour as their number one.

Tasmania almost couldn't decide over their favourite, with Pizza (30.98 per cent) and BBQ (30.71 per cent) going neck-and-neck for the top spot.

Cheese and Bacon was the most popular dusting for Aussies aged over 65, while millennials adored Pizza the most.
