People who are even the slightest bit scared of clowns should look away now because this is a place that they would liken to hell on earth.

The Clown Motel is located in the sleepy, desert Nevada town of Tonopah and is conveniently situated right next to a goddamn cemetery.

It has more than 2,000 creepy and terrifying clown figurines, both big and small, that aptly stare into your soul. Umm, sounds like paradise, I know.

But to make things even better, the CEO of the hotel has even reported hearing some fairly unnerving noises coming from rooms that have no one in them.

Hame Anand told Thrillist: "This was how I knew that they were telling me, 'we are here, but don't worry about that'."

He's heard footsteps, knocking and voices coming from some of the areas, which is great, just great.

Hame admits that it took him a while to get used to living in the motel.

"I was scared a little bit," he said. "I couldn't sleep in my room. But one day I thought, 'why did I come here? There must be some divine power. They want me here to run this motel. So probably, they are not going to mess with me'."

Hame said rooms 108, 109, 210, 215, and 217 are the worst for paranormal or strange happenings. If you want to up the ante, then you can always stay in the themed rooms, with some areas designed like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Exorcist, and It.

But it's not just unoccupied areas that are giving people the creeps. Some guests have reported doors opening and closing for no reason and a group of four women reported seeing a ghost in their bathroom who was offering to fix the toilet.

Because there isn't a hell of lot to see or do along the US-95, people regularly stop off at the motel to see what is waiting inside.

Hame said they've had travellers from Germany, France, Scotland, England, and Switzerland come and stay after hearing about how creepy it is.

He said he doesn't really understand why anyone would see his thousands of figurines as 'creepy'.

The CEO told Thrillist: "The clown is the laughing character. It makes you laugh.

"My grandmother used to say, 'whenever you're down, look at the clown'. I grew up with this line. That's how I felt collecting the clowns. The clown is the laughing character. It makes you laugh."

Sure.
