An alleged 'peeping Tom' has been taken to hospital after a violent confrontation erupted in Texas.
A girl had complained about someone watching her from outside her bedroom window in Harris County, Houston, however her parents didn't believe her.
It wasn't until Sunday (June 27) night when she finally caught sight of the man and screamed.

Her two parents, who are licensed firearms owners, picked up their handguns and raced to confront the man, who was allegedly masturbating outside the girl's room.
They told the intoxicated man to lie down on the ground and wait until authorities arrived. However, he refused and calmly walked to a nearby petrol station, according to ABC13.
The mum held the man at gunpoint while the dad went inside the Valero business to call 911. During this tiny window, the alleged peeping Tom took a chance and jumped the woman. He managed to wrestle the firearm off her and then pointed it back at her.

A fierce stalemate was then engaged and the dad returned outside and pointed his weapon at the man.
The dad could see the other weapon had been cocked and loaded. After a tense standoff, the dad reportedly shot the bloke four times out of fear he would do the same.
Two bullets hit the man's chest, another struck his stomach and another hit his side. While the dad claims it was four shots fired, Harris County Sheriff's officers claim it was just three. Thankfully, no one else was injured in the shooting.
The man was taken to hospital in critical but stable condition.

Authorities have referred the incident to the Harris County District Attorney's Office for a grand jury review. They haven't revealed whether any charges will be laid against the parents or the man who was shot.
The dad told ABC13 that his daughter is doing okay and is a bit shaken up from the whole ordeal.
