Ever since the beloved comedy series Schitt's Creek wrapped up their sixth season this year, fans have been desperately requesting the show's creators to bring it back in the form of a film.

The sitcom aired from 2015, starring Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy as the wealthy Rose family who are forced to flee their luxurious lifestyle to a small town and live in a hotel after they lose their large fortune.

The final episode saw the the quirky family of four break off on their own journeys across the US, with Alexis off to New York, Moira and Johnny heading to California, and David building a life with husband Patrick in Schitt's Creek.

With many wondering what's next for the Rose family (along with other fan faves like Stevie, Roland and other members of the town), Dan Levy has now addressed whether a movie could be in the pipeline.

Speaking to E! News, Levy said that while there aren't any current plans for a movie, there was certainly potential in the future, saying: "I would love for there to be. I'm not ruling it out."

"It's very flattering that people want to know, but I would just say generally I think you need to let the good things settle for a minute. Let people finish the show. Let people sort of take a breath."

"And then if people are still interested and an idea comes to me and our cast is wanting to do it, then great."

"I'm very sort of sensitive to overstaying your welcome in any capacity. So we'll see in a few years, if it all sort of comes together."

So, in very Dumb and Dumber fashion, you're saying there's a chance.

While Schitt's Creek flew under the radar for its first few seasons, the series exploded in popularity after it began streaming on Netflix following its third season.

The show's icon status was further cemented as the show swept this year's Emmy Awards, breaking the record for most wins in a single season for a comedy in what became a perfectly fitting send-off for the series.

It's probably good for everyone to have a little break and give the writers a chance to dream up the perfect reason to bring everyone back for one more show.
