Donald Trump Claims There's No Free Speech In America During Rally In Front Of Thousands

The former President said America is heading towards communism and isn't giving its citizens a 'voice'.

Donald Trump has addressed thousands of supporters to ironically claim there's no freedom of speech in America.

Proving that he doesn't need to be a Presidential candidate to draw a crowd, the former commander-in-chief gathered diehard fans at Robarts Arena in Sarasota, Florida, for his second 'Save America' rally.

During his address, he argued that the First Amendment is fading away in the US because he apparently can't say the 2020 US Election was rigged or that he technically won (which he didn't).

According to local media, Trump told the crowd: "We will...reject leftwing cancel culture. And we will restore the right to free speech in America again, which we don't have.

"We can't let them take away our free speech so we can't talk about corrupt elections. Otherwise, you'll have...that's communism. That's what they do in these communist countries, you have no voice.

"We have a truly sick election system, it's got to be changed. Remember this, I am not the one trying to undermine American democracy. I am the one trying to save American democracy."

He has been particularly annoyed in recent months at being booted from social media apps for continuing to question the election results that confirmed Joe Biden won.

Mr Trump also got kicked off because he was deemed a security risk for potentially stoking violence in the lead-up to and following the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

But it seems like the former President doesn't see the irony in complaining about a lack of freedom of speech when he's able to ask people to come together and listen to him speak about whatever he wants without any sort of punishment or retribution.

"If we lost the election...I wouldn't have a crowd that goes beyond what the eye can see, that stays in a thunderstorm," he said.

Trump also used his speech to attack anyone who helped his rival take the White House in November last year.

"Democrats used Covid to cheat. They illegally changed the rules in key states. They stole the votes," he added.

"They abolished signature verification requirements, created a powerful system for media and the online censorship of their opponents, and did everything possible to facilitate fraud just like you would do in a third-world country. That's what happened with this election."

Despite dozens of lawsuits and legal challenges in various states, Trump failed to claw back any of his election losses and he definitely lost.
