Donald Trump Is 'Happier' Now That He's Off Social Media, Says Former Staff Member

Donald Trump is 'happier' now that he's off social media, according to one of his former strategists.

The former US President was booted from the likes of Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and more after the Capitol Hill insurrection on 6 January.

He initially received temporary bans from each platform, however, one by one, they eventually extended the rulings over fears he could further incite his followers.

But it seems like the time away from the apps is doing him good.

Former Trump campaign strategist Jason Miller told the UK's Sunday Times: "The president has said he feels happier now than he's been in some time.

"He's said that not being on social media, and not being subject to the hateful echo chamber that social media too frequently becomes, has actually been good.

"That's something the First Lady [Melania] has backed up as well. She has said she loves it, that he's much happier and is enjoying himself much more."

Since leaving the White House, Miller said the 45th President of the United States looks the most relaxed he's been in the past four years.

He added: "Only 45 other people in US history have experienced what it is like to have the world on their shoulders... and to be able to exhale, knowing that it's not all on you, for the first time in four years."

While Trump won't be tweeting or posting content on Facebook any time soon, he isn't completely off social media.

Over the weekend he posted a statement to outsider platform Gab, and it was a letter from Trump's office to Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin.

Donald Trump has returned to social media.

It read: "Dear Congressman Raskin: We are in receipt of your latest public relations stunt. As you certainly know, there is no such thing as a negative inference in this unconstitutional proceeding.

"Your letter only confirms what is known to everyone: you cannot prove your allegations against the 45th President of the United States, who is now a private citizen.

"The use of our constitution to bring a purported impeachment proceeding is much too serious to try to play these games."

Trump is in the midst of a second impeachment over his conduct in his final weeks as the US President.

Earlier last week, Mr Raskin outlined the charges against the former leader, which were endorsed by a bipartisan majority in the House.
